ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR: Skilled Rehab & Nursing

Seeking a vibrant, energetic person to lead the Kutz Senior Living Campus Activity Department.  Planning, organizing and developing campus programming to meet the psycho-social needs of the population for both the skilled nursing and long-term care facility, and the general assisted living and Memory Care Neighborhood facility.  Support the mission and core values of Kutz Senior Living Campus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human service or recreation therapy required, MSN preferred
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a social services or recreational program and managerial experience in a health care setting, preferably with elders
  • Retain current NCCAP – National Certification Council for Activity Professionals or Certification by the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Certification
  • Obtain Certification as an Activities Director within 3 years, if not already certified
  • Experience in planning, organizing and conducting large - small group activities with elders desired
  • Proficiency with laptop / desktop computer programs including Microsoft Office and Exchange email
  • Excellent interpersonal / communication skills a plus
  • CPR certification required
  • Valid driver’s license

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage with residents, staff and families
  • Ensure that activities are in compliance with state and federal activity guidelines
  • Planning, scheduling and implementing an innovative, evidence based, seven day per week activity program that includes physical, social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual activities on both campus’
  • Planning, organizing and distributing resident social calendar on monthly and weekly basis
  • In conjunction with other department managers, design and compose monthly community newsletters to be shared with residents, staff and family members.  Digital production to be shared on social media and Community website
  • Supervision and direction of activity staff in 2 facilities
  • Developing, building and overseeing a robust volunteer program
  • Obtaining resident interest information upon move-in and updates as needed
  • Complete chart reviews and documentation as it pertains to resident engagement
  • Organization and management of departmental supplies and equipment
  • Actively participate in annual budget review, staffing review and forecasting
  • Develop individual and group activities to meet psychosocial needs of residents at all levels of care
  • Oversee monthly resident town meetings at both facilities as per State regulations
  • Participate in weekly management meetings on campus to include, but not limited to: Quality Assurance Meetings, Monthly Safety Rounds and event forecasting meetings as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information and abide by HIPAA regulations
  • Assure that resident rights are maintained at all times
  • Interaction / communication with nursing staff regarding resident health status
  • Coordinating transportation for off-site activities
  • Driving / escorting residents during off-site programs using designated company vehicles
  • Scheduling and managing facility entertainment
  • Authorization and management of vendor invoices
  • Planning and executing of events throughout National Assisted Living Week or other special events as requested by Administration
  • Transporting residents throughout buildings to/from events

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to transport residents to/from events throughout Community
  • Flexibility to stand, sit, bend, reach, lift, walk, etc.
  • Ability to stand / sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift < 50 pounds
