PHYSICAL THERAPY

Physical therapy supports residents who have lost function or independence to regain functional abilities such as walking, balance and endurance.  Comprehensive physical therapy treatment services may include:

  • Gait Training with Assistive Devices
  • Muscle Strengthening & Coordination
  • Safety Training
  • Evaluation & Training for Prosthetics
  • Transfer Training
  • Pain Management

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Occupational therapy assists residents working toward mastering the functional skills needed to reach an optimal level of independence in their activities of daily living, such as grooming, dressing, and bathing.  Outcome-oriented occupational therapy services may include: 

  • Upper Extremity Strengthening & Coordination
  • Assistive Device Assessment & Training
  • Instruction in Self-Help Tasks
  • Cognitive/Perceptual Assessment & Training
  • Energy Conservation Techniques

SPEECH THERAPY

Speech Therapy assists residents with speech, language, swallowing, and hearing impairments.  Speech therapy treatment services may include: 

  • Speech-Language Evaluation
  • Swallowing (Dysphagia) Evaluation & Treatment
    (Including Food Texture Evaluation & Recommendations)
  • Alternative Means of Communication
  • Vocal Evaluation & Treatment
  • Cognitive Assessment & Training

FUNCTIONAL MAINTENANCE PROGRAM

The Functional Maintenance Program is available following skilled rehabilitation therapy to preserve a resident’s optimum level of functioning and independence. Ambulation and range of motion are the focus of the functional maintenance program.
